Term: Elected to hold office for a one term period of two years.
Duties
– Presides over all meetings of the Chapter and of the Board of Directors
– Ensures that the Board meets a minimum of two times annually, and as required; conducts monthly conference calls, coordinates annual board retreat, as needed
– Sets the agenda for chapter related business
– Selects the members of Standing Committees and appoint the Chairperson.
– Serves as a member of the ERAPPA Chapter Development Committee, attending ERAPPA meetings, and participating in monthly conference calls
General Requirements for Position

– NNEAPPA conference, which occur in the spring of each year; conduct the annual chapter business meeting at each spring conference
– Chapter Board meetings two times a year (minimum) – one occurs in conjunction with each NNEAPPA conference, and the second is a Summer Board Retreat

Additional Requirements for Position
Participate in the following:
– ERAPPA Annual conference – which occurs in the fall of each year.
– ERAPPA Mid-Year Meeting in March at the location of the upcoming ERAPPA Conference
– ERAPPA Committee Conference Calls as necessary
– Assists the President in his/her duties
– Is an ex-officio member of all Standing Committees
– Reviews the Bylaws and Constitution of the Chapter and recommend changes
– Administers the Chapter pin recognition program
– Maintains the semiannual meeting history database on the chapter web site
– Contributes articles for the chapter’s electronic newsletter (published twice a year)General Requirements for Position

– Chapter Board meetings two times a year (minimum) – one occurs in conjunction with each NNECERAPPA conference, and the third is a Summer Board Meeting

– Serves as an Ex-Officio, voting member of the Board
– Elections are held every other year at the Spring Business Meeting. Conducts any and all elections and shall notify ERAPPA immediately following
– At the time of elections, when nominations are closed, the vote shall be taken. The Past President shall record the vote which shall be cast by the spokesperson for each institution. The nominee with the majority of votes cast for each office shall be considered to be elected, and will be announced by the Past President.
Participate in the following:
– NNEAPPA conference, which occur in the spring of each year; conduct the annual chapter business meeting at each spring conference
– Chapter Board meetings two times a year (minimum) – one occurs in conjunction with each NNEAPPA conference, and the second is a Summer Board Retreat
– Monthly NNEAPPA Board Conference Calls
– Takes minutes of board meetings and conference calls and distributes them
– Prepare NNEAPPA certificates of merit and/or appreciation
– Provides all correspondence for scholarship acceptance/non-acceptance, completion, reimbursement forms and travel policy information
– Informs membership about the nominations process for board members prior to February 1st of an election year (elections held every other/odd year). Forward nominations received through this process to the nominating committee no later than 30 days prior to the spring elections.
– Annual electronic filing to state of Maine to maintain incorporation status
– Provides and maintains all NNEAPPA payables and receivables, checkbook reconciliation, funds disbursements, tax-related filings
– Responsible for all crime/ event insurances
– Provide and distribute annual treasurer’s report to membership at Spring Chapter Business Meetings

Participate in the following:

– Serve as chapter liaison to the membership from your state, by telephone, email, and direct communication
– Assist the chapter leadership with the governance of the chapter through meetings and conference calls
– Maintain and solicit updates for membership
– Receive and review member scholarship applications and make recommendations to the full board for approval
– Offer assistance in contacting schools from our state regarding future chapter meeting hosting opportunities
– Contribute to the continued success of our chapter.
– One State Director, as appointed by the President, shall act as the lead person in matters requiring collaboration-
a. Scholarship recommendations to the Board
b. Scholarship record keeping and posting
c. Other activities as necessary

– Seeks new, innovative and pertinent educational programs to benefit the NNEAPPA membership
– Represent NNEAPPA on the ERAPPA Professional Development Committee
– Provide support to Chapter Host Committees for CEU certified educational sessions
Conduct/participate in the following:

– Retains and recruits engaged institutions
– Provides education to individual members/business partners
– Reports to ERAPPA Membership Committee
– Follows up on members that do not renew or have less involvement
– Supports education for the scholarship process
– Welcomes new members
– NNEAPPA conference, which occur in the spring of each year; conduct the annual chapter business meeting at each spring conference
– Chapter Board meetings two times a year (minimum) – one occurs in conjunction with each NNEAPPA conference, and the second is a Summer Board Retreat
– Monthly NNEAPPA Board Conference Calls
Participate in the following:

– Acts as the liaison between emeriti/ae and the chapter board
– Maintains a listing of contact information for emeriti/ae
– Coordinates opportunities for emeriti/ae to meet (generally semiannual lunches)
– Contributes articles to the chapter’s electronic newsletter (published twice a year)
Participate in the following:
– NNEAPPA conference, which occur in the spring of each year; conduct the annual chapter business meeting at each spring conference
– Chapter Board meetings two times a year (minimum) – one occurs in conjunction with each NNEAPPA conference, and the second is a Summer Board Retreat
– Monthly NNEAPPA Board Conference Calls
– Collaborate with host institutions and conference planner in support of their Business Partner venues, as needed.
– Assist host institutions with procuring sponsorships for conference events
– Maintain a working relationship with Business Partners, as the liaison between them and the chapter board.General Requirements for Position

– Represents NNEAPPA on the ERAPPA Communications & Technology Committee
